Hard to Find T-Shirts
Many of you are aware that Q Applied Systems makes a different T-shirt every year for customers who want them. Well, it’s the end of June and the 2022 T-shirt is not expected to be available until mid-July! Why you wonder? Is it the availability of the desired T-shirt brand? Not the T-shirt brand; no that’s only a preference issue. Any long sleeve safety orange shirts with a front pocket were simply impossible to find in the lots needed for our production run. Ultimately Same Day Shirt Printing of Temecula, CA was instructed to gather them on the open market wherever available. Piece by piece the shirts were acquired but lacking a key element.
A Bit of Humor Was Added
Here’s the supply chain woes twist (and humor of it all). The orange safety shirts with a pocket were not available so apparently there is a severe supply chain shortage of orange T-shirt pockets? Not deterred, Q Applied Systems went back to Jeff Trodhal of Jeffsart.com and had him quickly design a pocket “graphically” and the shirts are now ready to be silk screened.
So again, the 2022 T-shirt will have a bit of current humor silk screened into it. Anyone in the HVAC industry has a supply chain woes story – none of them are pretty and often contribute to sleeping disorders and other bad habits.
