Q Applied System provided another Climate by Design Int’l (CDI) desiccant air handling unit that was recently started-up at a S&P 500 semiconductor manufacturer. This 15,000 CFM by CDI serves the make-up air and dehumidification to a new plant expansion. The CDH Series by CDI is a fully integrated desiccant air handling unit complete with factory installed cooling coils, air filtration, face-and-bypass damper for precision desiccant dehumidification control, supply fans on spring isolated sleds with airflow measurement and VFD control and all other on-board controls factory wired to main control panel.
CDI desiccant dehumidifiers are built on a heavy base channel with 2.5” double wall, No-Thru-Metal construction with foam insulation, stainless steel drain pans and full height, hinged access doors. A variety of metals and paint finishes are available to meet your needs. Contact Q Applied Systems today to discuss your project needs.
Desiccant Dehumidification Demand is Great
The need for desiccant dehumidification remains strong in most market segments. Whether it’s a 500 CFM stand-alone unit for an R&D lab or a 50,000 CFM fully integrated unit built for an ultra-low dew point application, CDI can work with you from inception to completion. Manufacturing lead times in the desiccant industry are still longer than many anticipate. You may want to bring Q Applied Systems early, as the CDI representative, to your project to understand your requirements and offer the solutions necessary.

How is CDI Meeting the Dehumidification Demand
Based in Owatonna, MN for more than 30 years Climate by Design, Int’l has manufactured desiccant dehumidification systems for the commercial and industrial markets including nutraceutical, food processing, contract packaging plants, pharma, laboratory, lithium battery manufactures and other niche markets requiring dry air climates. CDI broke ground for a new 212,000Ft2 facility addition on a 14 acre site in Owatonna in 2022 and will soon further their commitment to the desiccant industry and the needs of a diverse customer base.
