CDI Dehumidifiers Saves Lives

March 2, 2021 by Bill Reagan

Covid-19

Have you had a test or vaccine yet?  The worldwide demand for increased Covid-19 vaccines and testing kits has put a tremendous strain on manufacturing and the precision HVAC equipment necessary to condition the environment.  Climate by Design Int’l (CDI) manufactures desiccant dehumidifiers to provide the ultra-low dew points required in these spaces.  CDI dehumidifiers saves lives! Contact us today to discuss the demanding performance and scheduling needs of you project.

Why Desiccant Dehumidification?

Many industries require manufacturing spaces with dew points below what mechanical refrigeration can economically or physically provide alone.  Dew points below 45 degrees are typically better served by desiccant dehumidification.   CDI manufactures a complete line of desiccant and multi-stage dehumidification systems to meet your exact project requirements.  It is not uncommon to build a dehumidification air handling unit with mechanical pre-cooling as the first stage of efficient moisture elimination followed by a desiccant assembly to drive the air down to moisture levels necessary to offset the internal moisture loads of your process.

Moisture Rejection

A second counterflow airpath is used to reject the moisture removed from the process airstream.  This reactivation airstream, that is usually 1/3 the volume of the process airstream, is heated to 280 – 300 degrees and is passed through the desiccant rotor where the trapped water is vaporized and removed outside the building.  The energy required for this reactivation airstream is in direct correlation to the energy required for moisture removal in the full process airstream.
